"The moment you see your own beauty and are so filled with it that you forget all else, you are free from all bonds; you know that you are all beauty, all the glory, all the power, all the magnitude of the Universe... the reflection of SIVAM (God) in the mirror of prakrithi (nature) is jiva (the individual)."
"One result of this self - realisation has been the recognition everyone else as but the reflection of oneself - the true basis of unity of mankind."
"Man breathes at the rate of 900 per hour, 21600 per day ie 10800 times during day time. With every breath man is supposed to repeat 'SOHAM' (I am 'HE'), so the figure 216 and its half 108 has a deep significance. It is also 9 times 12; 9 being a number indicative of BRAHMAN, since it is always nine, however times you may multiply it (9 X 12 = 108, 1 X 9 =9, 9 X 9 = 81, 8 + 1 = 9) and 12 is the number of SUNS; also the SUN moves through 12 points, each representing one month. Just as 9 is the symbol of Brahman 8 is the number of MAYA."
"The name of God is the most effective tonic to keep of all illness. So do not take sheltor behind excuses, but attend all Bhajan sessions.
Some people may laugh at sankirtana and classify it a mere show, and recommend instead quiet meditation. But coming out in company and doing Bhajan like this helps in removing egoism. For example, a person will swwep the the floor of his room when no one is looking. But to do the same act when people are looking requires some mastery over the Ego. In fact Nama Sankirtana will keep you away from distracting thoughts, whereas those thoughts will invade you when you do it alone. So sing aloud the Glory of the Lord and change the atmosphere with divine adoration."
Many regard religion as the cause for all the conflict, violence and bitterness in the world. But religion (Matham) is not the cause. Selfish minds (Swarth - Smriti) (mathulu) are actually responsible for all the conflict.
Do not entertain religious differences of any kind. Put into practice the message you receive in Prashanthi Nilayam and share the bliss of your experience with others.
"When the house catches fire, you run about in desperate haste to get succour to put out the flames. But, you do not realize that the fire raging inside you is even more devastating. You must take up the duty of fire fighting in right earnest and never rest till the flames are put out."
"A person might be an expert in many fields of knowledge or have mastery of many material skills, but without inner cleanliness, his brain is like a desert waste or a massive rock with no trace of love, mercy or expansive virtue."
"Without Sathya, Santhi and Prema the accumulation of knowledge is a barren achievement. Without them, all karma even connected to charity and seva are ineffective. Without them positions of authority to which one is raised become positions of persecution. Without them no good act or meritorius achievement can yield fruit."
"Many feel that it is human to err and the Lord should forgive them. In fact if they are truly human they should not commit mistakes at all. Should a mistake be committed, it should not be repeated. It is a grievous error to think that it is natural for man to err."
"Such a feeling should not be entertained by anyone. To follow the directives of the senses is a mark of the animal. To be guided always by the Atma is the sign of the human. No one has the right to justify his weaknesses and lapses as natural to human being. They can at best be regarded as signs of mental debility. Man must continually strive to master his senses."
"Only through the spiritual path can man achieve this. If there is real faith and devotion in a man, the senses will be powerless against him. When you dive deep into a problem and enquire from your heart whether your proposed action is good for your society, your conscience shall give you the right answer" -- Sri Sathya Sai Baba
